I don't see anywhere in the promo that says you have to play.

Are the marketing team activly trying to get rid of users? /s I say this because the amount of bad feeling towards totem for the most part can be traced right back to the marketing stratagies.

Why is there the 45 day limit, it's not like they are getting them for free. Like the gambling with SEC's all it's doing is annoying your best customers. If a customer feels ripped off just once it's bad, It's no wonder customer retention is what it is.

Wyldanimal, when an event promo reads "at least 5 cards available to purchase" the vast majority of customers are going to run with that information. It is false advertising, a lie. I don't care what has always been the case, the promo itself was worded so that one had to wonder if Totem was making recent cards part of the offer. It's why I had to ask for clarification in Celine's Q&A thread.

And again, not everybody is aware of the 45 days policy. I was ***** in the past by that rule. And I will say it again, not everybody reads the forum before buying, and they should not be expected to do so. The promotion itself needs to answer all of these questions instead of putting out false info like "at least 5 cards available to purchase".

That could be taken to be intentionlly deceptive advertising to generate sales by some, and 50 credits is the biggest cost I can remember seeing so far to participate in one of these events.

Why do people continually defend Totem when they are clearly in the wrong and need to correct this?

ATTENTION PLEASE: to all of you who can't purchase Mystery Envelopes because you already own all the shows released more than 45 days ago: for you the envelopes are at 50 credits and contains 5 scratch games !

And for as long as I can Remember, all the TGIF events exclude the Last 45 days of releases, Unless it was stated otherwise.

Many people are just going to go by the rules posted in this ad info, and then for those with nearly full collections, BOOM, Gotcha!


I will say though that knowing Totem, if a ticket is raised in that case, a credit refund would probably be issued. Still, though... come on, Totem, do better, especially since so many of these long time customers, like myself, are already feeling some bad ***** due to the recent turn in marketing strategies.

Not everybody checks the forum before making purchases; and it is unrealistic to expect them to. It should be clear on the "Featured" tab as well, and in the associated in app helps from that page.


And forgive me for saying so, but it's feeling kinda like "Animal Farm" around here regarding official forum posts if anybody gets my gist...

@pickle1 Ok, thanks for this info. I checked the post quite early and I didn't see the reference to the 45 day limit... If it really was there before the whistle blowed, I'm not going to argue about it - I trust that it was the case :)

At any rate, if this information was given in the beginning, it is the first time that I have seen it mentioned in connection with a Friday promotion. This should be the standard and constant disclaimer whenever such promotions are taking place; that you cannot win cards that are newer than 45 days (sometimes it was 30 days, I think...). Hopefully it will be like that from now on. I, and you, and surely most of the forum regulars know this already, but most of the customers don't take part here and they might not know about it.

I know the post was edited to remove the reference to the Eva Elfie SEC but I thought the text regarding 45 days was there originally.

Have to admit I liked this action and it is a chance to win a SEC again.
For me I just bought 2 times for a scratch. (2x 50 credits is 10 cards) Ended with 10 credits +
Not the profit / not the loss but the action itself was clear and ok.

OT:
About SEC is another cup of tea off course.

On a serious note, for all of these little concerns, we are going to end up with a promotion that has a seven page lawyer inscribed sheet that will require a signature and notary stamp to participate.

this is a solution and it (mostly) already exsists... read the details before purchase:
Cover page= big picture of the deal (mystery envelope has five cards..... etc.)
foot note = main details with a link (what if for the five main problems)
link = a list of all the little details so no one gets *****. (this is currently the message board post that will answer specific questions)

Totem should know to check their English grammar with a translator or something.

Automated translators still are quite unreliable. Using one might even worsen the problems...

It is also why I asked about waiting until Monday in Celine's thread since i lacked only four cards....

It says, "If you have less than five cards available to purchase".

That definitely translates to "as long as you you lack more than five of any cards you may participate" for the average English speaker.

Again, the promo seems intentionally misleading as DarkThoughts lacked at least a dozen shows.

I suppose it is the same thing now, because I have not yet bought the six latest cards, and when I tested with this mystery envolope, I only got 5 scratch cards.

Why can't they make it transparent, like (last line on your second image)...

"Note: if you own all the cards that are at least 45 days old..."

... instead of

"Note: if you own all the cards..."

On some screens it is harder to read than yours. Just saying, I could read it, but it was difficult.
Any print should be readable or you will get complaints.

I recently got a free DVD with a purchase from a seller on adultdvdmarketplace. The cover read "What Women Want's" (yes w/ the apostrophe AND incorrect conjugation), but when I opened the case the disc read "What A Women Want"

Let's not pretend that page is not *****, shall we? I, too, thought it meant that maybe Totem was including recent shows in the promotion, as long as you lacked at least five.

The wording is not only ambiguous, it is misleading! Intentionally? I ***** to say it, but I begin to think these misleading ads are intentionally so worded. That's why I've taken to asking for clarification on the boards.
