I agree... a search option is needed. The question is if people will take the time to do a search before asking questions...

@Jununger:
We found this to be a bit true with the Blogs. Even after they added a search function to the Blogs, some people didn't take the time to use it and past topics/questions came up again. But I agree that the search function reduced the repeats and is needed for the forum.

Also, I noticed that you added a "sticky" about Stacy Silver. Nice but I think a special "VGHD FAQ" topic is needed (either in forum or a main web site link). The Help section contains a lot of info and is very helpful, however it doesn't cover some of the common questions that come up in this forum.

Therefore I would prefer that you change the sticky topic about Stacy Silver to a topic "VGHD FAQ" and then place FAQ information in this sticky topic. Only moderators could add to it and when they see a topic that seems to come up often and there is a posting of a good answer, you could add it to the FAQ by copying and pasting it in the FAQ or simply add it in your own words.

What do you think?

With any forum, blogs or large sites search engines are useful, but some people are simply too lazy or not knowledgeable enough about computers and the web to use search engines. A large portion of the regulars as well as a few lurkers will make use, but some will still ask the same dozen questions even if they are highlighted in Neon Yellow and linked from every page.

I agree that a FAQ would be as helpful if not more so than a search engine and since I do some web design myself I can guarantee will be a lots less headaches. Since I am still new here I have not taken a good look at the forums yet, but if you get enough questions you could even create a read only forum category similar to the platinum forum.
