I am not interested in random cards, I am not interested in special cards, I am not interested in gambling, so this whole sale (Black Friday + "Winter") I could only buy more credits and now I don't have a way how to spend them. Hopefully January will be better in this regard, fingers crossed.

Even though they are quite rare, you must have won 150 credits several times. Or maybe you won more 35 credit prizes.

I won 150 credits twice, which hardly counts as several times - this is consistent with a likelihood of wining it is probably somewhere between about 0.5% and about 3% depending on whether I was lucky to get 2 or unlucky not to win 3 - basically all I can say is its quite low. I did win 35 credits several times and I won 15 credits on much more than half my plays although I have no idea how many of those were replacements for what should have been free cards. if I did not have a full collection.

Playing over a hundred times is nowhere nearly a big enough sample. To be able to get a reasonable estimate of how often the 150 credit prize is won you need a sample in which this prize is won many times - a couple of dozen times or so (and even that will only give you loose estimate). The same is true for the other high value prizes, i.e. Jokers and SECs.

Based on my experience I can not tell whether or not this game is a "good bet" for those with full collections. It does, however, look to be a good deal for those with much smaller collections, for whom the normal card price is significantly higher than that which I pay, providing they do not care about which cards they win.

Ce sont justement ces 3 gains qui sont intéressants (Jokers, SEC et 150 cr) pour nous. Puisque nous perdons sur chaque carte reçues.
Pour de nouveaux membres, les cartes et les gifts sont de bonnes choses .

@Philours Oui justement, j'imagine que ça peut être avantageux pour les nouveaux membres. Je parlais surtout pour nous en tant que membres triple diamond, je pense que ça ne vaut pas le coup.
Si j'avais gagné des jokers, oui ça aurait certainement rendu le jeu un peu plus satisfaisant, mais j'ai l'impression que c'est le gain le plus difficile à obtenir.

@Number6 Yes, I was just guessing. Thanks for adding your results, so it's probably not worth it for maxed-out members after all.
It would be interesting to know roughly how many times you played.

@Philours Non, justement je n'ai obtenu ni joker ni de gain de 150 crédits sur 110 jeux / 1650 crédits. Le seul gain un peu spécial était une carte spéciale.

@TheEmu right, I agree. We're probably on both ends of the odds scale. Both our stats could have been altered if you had only one less 150 credit win and if I had won at least one; but I think it's safe to say playing over 100 times is a good sample. Even though they are quite rare, you must have won 150 credits several times. Or maybe you won more 35 credit prizes.
I also found it quite surprising that I didn't get a 150 credit win even once.

I think that for maxed-out members, since there are already 2 prizes left out (random cards & SECs) and the server has less to choose from, credits are awarded for example rather than a joker card.

It would be interesting to see what other members experienced.

You are only using a small sample for your prediction.

Like @TheEmu I have a maxed out collection and couldn't play the 25 game during the Black Friday events.

I don't know how many times I have played since it became available but at the moment I am down by a net 235 credits and only have 5 gift cards to show for it and no jokers. I had numerous 15 credit wins (some of which were awarded for a "free card") and a few 35 credit wins. 5 gift gards at a net cost of 235 credits makes them a cost of 47 credits each. As I typically pay 11 credits for a card it is hardly the better outcome that you predict for maxed out members.

Typically when I play games to obtain a SEC or a Joker they cost me around 250 credits. So again it isn't rosy for all maxed out members.

Still Totem's strategy is working and I have no real objections. Up until the intoduction of the games there was no way they could get maxed out members like me to spend any more credits than those spent for new shows.

@arise77 - an important consideration with respect to these statistics is that if I had won just one fewer 150 credit prize then the overall outcome would look very different. Because 150 credit prizes are quite rare there is a large uncertainty on any estimate made of their frequency which in turn feeds through into an uncertainty as to the long term rate of return or loss for this game. The same is true of the Joker prizes, but the other prizes occur often enough that the uncertainty in the probability of winning them is much lower.

It's interesting to notice there is already a major difference in wins between maxed-out members and other triple diamond members:

• when investing around 2,000 credits, you get almost 95% of it back
• other 3D members only get about 70% of it back (counting random cards and credit wins)

I'm guessing if you already have all available cards and SECs, then the server awards 15, 35, 150 credits, gift cards and jokers more often. And since you get about as many gift cards as other 3D members and only one joker, that means you get many 150 credit wins.
I also suppose 150 credit wins are limited for all participants, so if maxed-out members get most of them, that would explain why other members get so few if any.

I'd be curious to see if this is confirmed by members with different levels.

@TallandSlimMan Sale can translate into "vente" or "soldes"; vente just means the act of selling & soldes are like sales, in the sense something sold cheaper. But you're right, since English isn't their first language, let's give them the benefit of the doubt. 😀

@Philours Je pense que même sans rentrer dans les détails, vous pouvez observer "en gros" les résultats : 30% de jeux perdants, on récupère environ 1/3 de sa mise totale, on reçoit une carte aléatoire environ tous les 4 jeux et une gift card tous les 12 jeux.
Après pour ce qui est des jokers et/ou des cartes spéciales, je pense que les comptes sont vite faits... 😀
C'est comme vous voulez, si vous avez la patience et l'envie de publier vos stats. Pour ma part, ça permet déjà de réaliser que ce jeu n'est pas fait pour moi ! 😄

Si vous êtes prêt à mettre ce genre de sommes et prévoyez d'avoir toutes les cartes, je vous conseillerais plutôt d'acheter les packs progressifs, les cartes aléatoires vous reviendront beaucoup moins cher. Une fois que vous aurez une collection complète ou quasi complète (-30/45 jours), vous aurez surement les mêmes chances que TheEmu.

Je ne suis pas forcément un très bon exemple à suivre, car je dis souvent que ce type de jeux n'est pas valable pour nous, mais il m'arrive quand même d'y jouer. Mon conseil raisonné serait de ne pas jouer du tout, afin de ne pas encourager ces pratiques. Après, il faut s'y tenir... 😉

Sorry @arise77 but I was not counting the number times I played. When I made my earlier post I estimate that I had played about 100 times, probably a few less than that. Since then I have played some more bringing the estimated total up to somewhere between 130 and 150 times.

I now am down by a further of 100 credits but have 3 more gift cards and a joker.

So, in all, 10 gift cards and a Joker cost me 105 credits. Even if I use those gift cards to buy cards that I would otherwise get at the cheapest rate available to me, i.e. 11 credits, they alone are worth slightly more than it cost to win them - and I won a Joker as well so I am very satified with the result. However, I will save the gift cards for the rarer more expensive cards to get an even better final outcome.

Je possède effectivement mes stats sur papier. Je pourrais les publier, mais pour cela je dois remettre de l'ordre dans tout ce calcul.
Car j'ai joué en plusieurs épisodes, avec des achats réguliers venant s'y intercaler. Ainsi que des recharges de crédits. Il y a eu des hauts et des bas. Mais une carte reçue, n'est pas vraiment une victoire puisqu'elle vous coute 15 Cr.
Si j'ai le courage de le faire, je le ferai. Je vous dis cela car j'ai joué 520 x. Le travail "stats" pourrait dès lors être intéressant mais fastidieux. 😕😟😟😟😟
J'ai d'ailleurs quelques cartes - cadeau a vendre. Si cela intéresse quelqu'un ; faire offre 😀😀😀

Barre du haut, Si je clique sur winter sale, advent calendar, j'arrive sur le calendrier entier, sans perte, et winter sale devient calendrier de l'avant, sur cette ligne . Comme la barre info, lottery, calendar, nouveauté disparait, ça laisse la place au calendrier pour se dévoiler complètement.

Si j'y vais par sélection, calendrier de l'avant, le calendrier est tronqué, perdant la partie du bas, car la barre info, lottery, etc, reste.
Pas besoin de changer rien, le logiciel a été construit de cette façon.

Top bar, if i click at winter sale, advent calendar, i see the full calendar, and winter sale change to advent calendar on the bar. That way, the second bar with info, lottery, calendar, etc dissappear, so the calendar have more space to be seen.

No need to change anything, it's normal.

I agree in 100 %. Black Friday brought hundreds or maybe thousands of problems with lost credits and then waiting for their return ... A technical failure and it cannot be hidden. There were no compensations for stressful situations ... Winter sale was really not interesting, especially for those who have all the cards ... And I agree that winter, both in terms of the calendar and in recent years, also noticeably begins after Christmas, and in December you often have to use artificial snow on the ski slopes and jumps

Would you mind posting your stats just so we have an idea?

I didn't play this time, because last time my results were awful:

• played 110 times so 1,650 credits spent
• 78 times "won" something, so 32 losing tickets (so 71% chance of getting something)
• got 15 credits back 32 times (29% chance)
• won 35 credits 9 times (8% chance)
• won 9 gift cards (8%)
• got 27 random cards (24.5% chance) ; 12 VirtuaGirl, 1 DeskBabes, 13 Istripper & 1 Istripper X
• got 1 SEC (0.9% chance)

And no joker nor 150 credit win (less than 0.9% chance then)

Net loss: 1,035 credits for 28 random cards, 1 SEC & 9 gift cards. It's even worse than my first calculations.

I think from what you're saying @TheEmu chances are probably higher for gift cards/150 credit when you have a full collection. As for other triple diamond members, seems like the odds are particularly unfavourable.

This week I can play the 25 game, unlike last week whem I was locked out by having a full collection. So far I have found it almost impossible to lose when playing this game. In effect I have 7 gift cards for a total cost of 5 credits, less than a credit a card.

The experience will of course differ depending on how many cards you own, how much you have to normally pay for a card and how you regard randomly chosen free cards.

It's a lottery.
There may be hundreds of thousands of tickets around, and prizes are few. So, there is no surprise and no trickery - at all - if one doesn't win anything even owning 300 tickets or so.
It's not a scam: all lotteries work like so. Period.

It seems like each time you use it, it creates a new "Totem" folder, but you can just delete that when you are done. Also Istripper still appears in add or remove programs, but apart from that it seems like it is completely on the drive, rather than on my hard drive.

Not my first time editing the registry, aware of the risks, felt it was worth it

It means you get an extra 20% discount if you buy within 10 days of a card's relase date and also, you can download cards in 4K resolution if your system can handle it.. My crappy old laptop can manage it if I minimise the gui. (2.6 Ghz with 4 GB Ram). Anything much less than that might struggle with 4K clips.It also means that you get priority Customer Service if you should ever need it. Not needed it myself so can't comment on that...Grats! :)

I've used customer support a couple of times and even without the priority it doesn't take long.

In case my position is still being misunderstood. I have absolutely no problem with @Wyldanimal 's posts describing how to modify the behaviour of iStripper by changing registry entries. They are very clear, informative and helpful.

What I disagree with him on are rather *****, almost philosophical, terminological points such as whether or not such edits can unequivocally be called "safe". I take the view that any use of undocumented (at a user level of documentation) features is inherently unsafe with respect to future updates no matter how safe they are in practice with the current version.

I also have a ***** concern that widespread use of such implementation details can constrain future development. I do not think that would be much of a problem in this particular case, but I have seen exactly that happen elsewhere.

For example an important user of a package used knowledge of its internal data structures (obtained by looking at low level #incude files) to bypass the intended API, then because of the importance of the user (or rather the importance of the that user's product to the end users) this resulted in having to freeze the package's internal data structures and introduced significant barriers to improving the package.

I make registry edits when and if necessary.

The two most common edits (as I understand it) are for the location of the models (and there is system functionality to do this now) and the Data folder for which there are no system functionality.

I know the risks and what would be required if things went wrong, that is why I made the modifications to achieve what I needed.

Contained Instructions on Making Registry Edits

These were Official Support FAQ from the Team..

These inclusion is the Help FAQ have since been removed, as most of it, is now part of the Settings.
But there are a few members who want to relocate more then just the Models Repository.

And the Only way to do that, is to make a registry edit.

Back when I was much more active as a Mod, I created a Sticky topic for people giving "advice" on doing registry modifications.

In essence said that it was the responsibility of the person giving the advice to:
1. Make sure the member who was being advised was aware of potential risks if they didn't know what they were doing
2. It was the advising member's responsibility to support the member making the changes and help them correct the situation if something went wrong.
3. I was even know to bring out my club for a few whacks for "advising" members who did not follow these rules.

Back then, we had a few cowboys (and they were always guys back then) who threw out suggested changes, but didn't warn of potential risks and didn't support the member when they got it wrong and left it to Totem Support to resolve the mess, which is why the Team do not advocate making these changes because they don't know how experienced the member is.

Now with WyldAnimal, he has always, then as now, provided warnings and fully supported the member when & after they attempted the registry update.

That is why in all these years even before he became a Mod, I NEVER have had a problem with his posts on registry changes and NEVER even considered challenging him on one

There are a number of elements to iStripper on a Mac. The most important are:

1. The iStripper application file which should be in you Applications folder.

2. The data folder whose default location is an iStripper folder in home folder.

3. The models folder which defaults to the iStripper folder but can be moved anywhere using the Advanced settings of the iStripper application's user interface.

The iStripper application can be placed in either the root applications folder where it will be available to all users of the comptuer or the home folder of a single user so that other users can not see it. I have mine in the root applications folder.

1. Where is your data folder?

2. Is your models folder in the path shown in the iStripper advanced setting data sector?

I don't want to go into preference file issues until I understand your file configuration. If you haven't moved the data folder and don't want to move it, you probably don't need to do anything to the preference file. That filed is named: com.totem.Vghd.plist
