When you become a monthly member, do the amount of cards matter? do you get all the girls and such for free with your monthly subscription? Would like to know cause i am seriously considering purchasing more girls for my virtual girls.

well you won't get all the girls for free all at once but you are suppose to ,according to the ad, get one each day. There has been some talk by the staff this week about cutting production though so I don't know what will become of that 1 girl a day now.

Cutting production only affects those of us who have all the cards. Anyone just starting out who subscribes would take many many months to catch up even if production was completely halted. Just don't buy all the girls and then subscribe expecting one every day :)

I'd thought that bringing back the girls from VG2, that had not been already brought over, was a technical impossibility. Now I'm hearing that it could be possible but the tech team isn't hot to do it. What about if Totem created a "Virtual Girl Classic" section with maybe one card or so of each of girls that were voted on by present members who have been VG2 members & if you presented pics the general membership could vote on them too. These could be offered as non calendar bonus buys, available only to platinum members maybe, Totem could offer them as special Bonus paks at higher rates for collectors. I also vote, strongly, that the explicit videos of girls already on VGHD be brought over from VG2!
If I am absolutely mistaken and it is completely impossible to convert the girls (" I told you when you're not stripping you've got to wear either the nun's habit or the burka ,Sharka!") then so be it.

I'm quite sure they have the original footage as well as the completed shows so they could even recreate the shows. The problem is that any converted shows won't look as good as our current shows. The quality of the original footage is just lower.

But I understand why the team wouldn't want to convert older stuff. They'd be working to make it look as good as possible but they'll still be working with lower quality footage and the end result won't look as good. They'd probably have to do extra work to re-encode or resize things for the VGHD standard as well.

I would say to hold a post or something and gather votes as to which of the girls from the original vg to bring back and reshoot? This would probably be alot of trouble. And I totally understand the complexities and desireability to convert the old into the new. I agree with xeris89 100%. Averall, the rewards are not worth the expense and profits. And they might loose potential customers if the customers see them being all scraggly and stuff. Metaphorically, it is a turn-off.

The way I have understood the idea to convert some of the old VG2/SS2 girls in to VGHD it was meant as some kind of exclusive bonus for those with lots of tickets and no more cards to buy. I doubt they will release these old shows as part of the general subscription. That could be a big mistake indeed :)

Does this mean, if your supposition is true, that users such as myself, who will NEVER have all of the cards, will not have the opportunity to see these shows? Is this what you mean?

I have 190 girls and plan to get more. But I see none that are interesting at the moment, though I am thinking about a couple of girls I previously rejected.

A subscriber gets ONE FREE GIRL (CARD) each day and no girl (card)is ever shown in the calendar if it is already in your collection. This is true for the life of the subscription, only.

Nope, thats not what I said :) I said Totem would probably not include them as part of the regular subscription.

A wild guess is that everyone will be able to buy these using tickets. If there is any kind of limitation it will be based on your "star" not if you have all the cards or not.

jununger,

This is exactly what you said: 'meant as some kind of exclusive bonus for those with lots of tickets and no more cards to buy'.

This sounds the same as what I said. I NEVER mentioned the 'regular subscription' in that post.

It may not happen and I hope it does not. Or I would not like to be excluded from such possibility.

I stand by those words and there is no conflict here. I said "some kind of exclusive bonus"... meaning I really have no clue exactly how this will play out :)

Exclusive gifts to those that have all cards maybe (instead of getting a ticket)??? ...and those that don't have all cards need to buy them... This way they are an "exclusive bonus" and at the same time up for sale to everyone else :)

Again... this is purely speculation from my side. Actually... until the first old girl is released no one will even know if there ever will be such release :)

It just seems to me that everyone is getting carried away.

You can't just vote for the girls that you want from VG2.
The way VG2 developed was that most of the original VG girls were re-encoded and released. This means that over 10 years of technological development have lead to where we are today. The original girls are low quality by todays standards. The early VG2 are poor quality and only towards the end did Totem start using a higher resolution camera.

Totem have already stated that they do not want to lower the quality of the animations in VGHD by releasing VG2 support or VG2 content.

Totem have also eluded to have lots, perhaps upto 100 cards shot, and that would be supported by all the 'gaps' we know about in the released cards.
Further, Totem have recently been filming in the US and it is safe to conclude that they now have many more cards shot.

So why even consider lower quality VG2 material?

It is safe to assume getting the 'film' from camera to PC is totally
automated.

So the amount of effort (time, cost) to make a VG2 animation would not be significantly different from a new VGHD animation.
There may some saving from 'splitting' a long animation into usable chunks, there may be some saving in processing the pictures and videos (for the cards web page). The anchoring of each clip to the task bar, validating the clip is not corrupt, assessing the file name (level of nudity, entry/exit, etc) and packaging and release would all be the same.

Okay jununger, I understand you.

I just hope that it is not an "old" girl. :)

Ariana and Shelby Bell would be my first choices. Though they may have had animations too small.

Who is that last girl? She looks familiar.

@SexyAgent
Actually I think I read somewhere that they were looking at an alternative solution where they don't need to "re make" the cards but rather that they might create some kind of VG2 support after all. Not sure where I read it thou. I know Rex mentioned that they were considering re-processing some of the VG2 girls a while back when they cut back on the release to 3 cards a week. I agree that doing a complete re-encoding of old sets are not likely from a time/money standpoint. Then it would be better to focus on creating new cards from the current material.
