It seems to me that you have 2 opposite ideas. In this thread you're approving @Corbomite who's in favor of gambling as the unique way to get special event cards, and in other threads you're approving those in favor of a well defined path to obtain special event cards.

Which of these is you're way to see it ??

It is obvious that the notion of pleasure is not the same for everyone.

Totem needs to find, and quickly, something other than gambling and slot machines to satisfy people in agreement with me in connection with special event cards, because personally, I have less and less fun to frequent iStripper.

My pleasure is to have the opportunity to acquire all the girls' cards by purchase and not the chance, and to be able to make them dance on my screen.

It seems to me that this should be the primary purpose of iStripper.

Mon plaisir est d'avoir la possibilité d'acquérir toutes les cartes des filles par l'achat et non le hazard, et de pouvoir les faire danser sur mon écran.

What is not really clear in this @Kaiju statement, is the words "NOT based only on luck but". In my mind it means something like they will increase the chances of winning based on the player's loyalty. That I'm not interested in since you still need luck there's still a possibility you mist it.

Loyal customers do not deserve to be treated this way.

Let's say I have been consistently buying candy and lottery tickets twice a week at my local convenience store for the last 20 years. If I go to that store tomorrow at the same time as a guy shopping there for the first time, I won't be surprised if we pay the exact same price for the candy and have the exact same chance of winning the lottery. I certainly don't feel like the store is abusing me.

iStripper also sells two different product lines: cards and gambling "tickets" (e.g. scratch cards, slot machine spins). However, unlike the convenience store, iStripper rewards loyal customers with free credits, level discounts and access to additional forums and functionality. We would all love to see them extend those rewards so loyal customers got tickets with better odds of winning, but Totem is not obligated to do so and they are not mistreating loyal customers if they don't.

Like it or not, we should understand that iStripper now has two different business models: selling cards and running gambling games. Right now it's easy to ***** the two because the products and rewards are the same type of item. However, if the gambling stream is very profitable, the special event cards might be the first in a long line of unique items that are only available through the gambling route. I suspect my will power is going to take a beating. 😐

I do like the Idea of an Exclusive card available during a Special event.
That I have no Issue with..

I also Like the other TGIF events that I can take part in.
Like the Slot machine. I set a limit to how much I will spend, trying to win more Credits.
Same with the Scratch off Tickets.
I set a Limit at the start and I don't sway from it.
It is, for me, FUN that way, without the frustration. Because I know exactly how much I'm going to spend.


I think in the future it will more tolerable to many more members.
No more cards Released in a game of Luck...
For me, that is all I wished for.
A clear defined way for a member to obtain the Card on it's Initial Release.

I'm not sure that Totem uses that term. I would suggest that a loyal customer is one who continues to purchase a product over an extended period of time and in a significant quantity. I the case of iStripper, I'd suggest that any customer who is still buying an average of 5 or more cards a month after 1 year is a loyal customer. Clearly, collectors are the most loyal of customers by this standard.

Re: Wining Cards in a Lottery

Looking back over 6 months I find that I spent about 800 credit to "win" 6 special event cards. If Totem had set a fixed price of 100 credits per card I for those cards, I would not have purchased them. My conclusion is that Totem has found a way to make more money and I was stupid enough to go along. I will not make that mistake again.

I'm curious as to what totem means by "loyal", and what the new path to special events is. It may be quite different than what we are thinking.
Is it people with 4000 cards? Is it people who have hit triple diamond? Is it people who have been here for X amount of time? Is it people who have X amount of forum posts?
I suppose we'll find out later this year, and we'll all be ***** again when it isn't what we're expecting, or hoping for.

There are EIGHTEEN "Red Fox" cards on iStripper now. I owned...by purchasing...ALL of the available ones she had BEFORE one came out as a "special event card", and was therefore unavailable to me UNLESS I would "gamble" for it. Since that "special" card came out, Totem released MORE of her cards, which I ALSO purchased. So now I have SEVENTEEN of her cards, but can't get the 18th one UNLESS I'm willing to GAMBLE my money to get it?

Not in my lifetime. I've been a "loyal enough" customer by purchaing 17 of her cards already. Why is Totem telling me, "Sorry! The only way you can get her other card is to GAMBLE your money for it...with NO GUARANTEE you WILL get it."

The part of your message that I quoted in my reply, and to which I was reponding, was where you were talking about OTHER (your emphasis) gambling games offering you old cards.

So, what part of "I can't buy THOSE 7 cards" don't you understand? By drfinition, they aren't even SPECIAL. They are just part of a marketing scheme connecting them to a special "event".

Totem already give you a way to obtain any other card you want, with the exception of the Special Event Cards. You can simply buy them at the price that they are offered. What you seem to want would amount to a simple price reduction on anything you want to buy - Totem even sometimes do this as a TGIF offer, but you can not expect any business to simply reduce prices because customers would prefer to play less.

Yeah, it was long. But here's the real thing about it.

People are saying the Totem "Joker Card" is a "gambling game". Actually, it's not. Why? Because any intelligent gambler knows they can increase their chances of winning by playing a true gambling game smarter than other players do. That's how live poker, video poker, and all card games work.

The "Joker Card" event doesn't allow the player to do that. It's a LOTTERY ONLY. You spend your money to buy CHANCES to win something (a Joker Card). Every time you spend another credit to do that, it's like buying another lottery ticket. And there is NO GUARANTEE you will win ANYTHING when doing it, regardless of how much money you throw at it. Out of ALL the money (THOUSANDS of credits) thrown at the Joker Card game, there were only FIFTY winners of the Joker Cards. You might as well be buying lottery tickets hoping to win the "grand prize", which the probability and odds say isn't gonna happen to you, regardless of how money you throw at it. And here's the worst part. You might OCCASSIONALLY win some credits, but rarely will you win more credits than you spend. It HAS to be that way or Totem would be LOSING money running the Joker Card game.

Yeah, there will be SOME winners. But even 50 winners posting something saying, "Hey! I Won! So it's a good game!" just indicates how little they know about "gambling" and the true cost of it. Or it's the marketing strategy, hoping there are enough customers who don't understand they ARE throwing money away doing it.

It's not rocket science. I won't call it what it realy is, but marketing executives would use a term relating to the word "preditory" if they did.

AM I against the gambling games here? No! Some people will play them regardlees of how good or bad they may be financially. What I AM against is Totem making making me gamble to GEt some of their INVENTORY I come here to BUY...the Model Cards.

If you want to "play gambling games", make it like a real casino. Money in the machine to gamble, and money out if you win (substitute "credits" for "money" if you want, but it's STILL the same thing). But keep the INVENTORY of what is SOLD here SEPARATE from it. I come here to buy model cards. Not "gamble" or play a "lottery" to get them.

Those of you that found the accidental offering of male stripper cards was not to their taste may want to go to your vghd/data folder and delete the contents of the directories begining with the letter b.

Let's wait to hear what Totem will propose to us big spenders.

First, thanks to Totem for replying about trying to do something for their "loyal" customers concerning this fiasco.

Now, let me tell you what WON'T be a solution for me as an ALREADY "loyal" customer who is ALREADY receiving discounts for my PREVIOUS "loyalty".

I've been a member since 2008. I'm "Double Diamond" (sorry...I only buy the cards I'm really interested in) and ALREADY receive a 40% DISCOUNT on any cards I buy now. I do SINCERELY appreciate that as a "loyal" customer.

So, if any "solution" involves a higher price to me for one of the "special event" cards than what a customer who WASN'T already getting a discount (ie - a "new" customer with NO cards) is ***** to pay, I'm keeping my money. I would have no problem paying the "full price" a new customer would have to pay for any REGULAR card (ie - make me pay the regular price for the "spevial EVENT card" without my Double Diamond 40% discount), but I'm not paying or gambling outrageous amounts of money for the card that has been described as NOT EVEN SPECIAL in this thread, because it's the EVENT that is "special". I'd be willing to spend the REGULAR price for the special event card, but no more (while still keeping my Double Diamond 40% discount for all other cards...I'm either still "loyal enough" to keep that or not).

If anybody thinks I would ever pay $25 for ANY card here, they are out of their minds. I pay $50 for 500 credits when I buy my credits. I don't get a Double Diamond discount on that. And I will NEVER pay 250 credits ($25...or MORE, as some people have suggested) to get ANY card here, regardless of how "special" it may be.

Heck, I can pay $19.95 for 1 month for most of the "affiliate" sites Totem is associated with, then I could download the ENTIRE CONTENT of that site within 30 days...pictures AND videos (assuming I had the storage space for the content...which I do have). So I'm NEVER going to willingly pay $25 or more for a single card here. Nor risk GAMBLING that much (or more, as some have said they ended up gambling to get one of the cards).

I'm gonna assume there's a reason Totem terminated the old SUBSCRIPTION membership, and it's probably because MANY people got fed up with paying for cards they DIDN'T want to buy to begin with. For those people (like me and others) it costs us LESS to just buy the cards we WANT to buy. These "games" now ***** us to try to get cards we DO want, but end up getting other cards we DON'T want instead. And the same thing happens with the "Buy the whole month in advance and we'll give you the Special Event card". Ain't no way I'm spending money on a month's worth of cards I DON'T want just to get ONE card I WOULD want.

So, if the cost of a "special event" card to me will EVER be more than the price of a REGULAR card for a BRAND NEW MEMBER, I'm not buying it. Heck, as Wyldanimal and others have said, the CARD itself isn't "special", it's the stupid "event" that is. So don't make me pay more for the card than the highest cost it would be to a brand new iStripper customer with NO cards to begin with. I'm already "a loyal customer", so give me a break. If you know that MOST new customers are only going to stay around for 5 months (as the stated "statistics" in previous posts indicate), screw them around by making THEM "gamble" or "pay more" (like you ALREADY DO because I get a discount for being Double Diamond and they don't).

That's the terms Totem will have to meet to keep me a "loyal" customer, instead of jerking me around by making me gamble my money or pay some kind of totally outrageous price for a card that isn't even "special" itself, but just associated with a "special event".

Great, I had a lot of Classics still on my wishlist. Well, I still have a lot on my wishlist anyway, but this is a good moment to especially grab the classics.

Same here, and my iStripper was off since last week, so it was a 1st start today...

I forgot to add that when I did quit the app I checked with Task Manager that iStripper had indeed stopped running.

UPDATE: I just tried the ultimate version of quit and restart. I powered off and restarted my laptop. I still see the guys.
