Hmmm... Political correctness seems to still be pervading everything. Off the top of my head, I can't think of a reason why Spanish people call the city of Sevilla by it's correct Spanish name while English people still call it Seville... with an 'E'.

Spanish also renames many English/American/Australian or whatever towns and cities when there's a Spanish word for it, eg. Nueva York. Other city names that have no direct translation usually remain as the English spoken version. There are many, odd
examples such as The Netherlands/Holland which most Spanish refer to as Hollanda OR Los Paises Bajos (The Low Countries).

I guess most of us will get annoyed when someone doesn't call a country/city/town by it's commonly accepted name. There are worse problems to deal with in this world. Personally, I don't give a flying Kozf what people choose to call something as long as we all understand what it is. Peace... 😊

Spoken languages have developed since over, what... 50,000 to 150,000 years ago? Nobody will ever know. Who made up the words we all use every day in our own languages? New things that come along in our lives need new names so we all know what we're talking about. Each language will have to make up it's own equivalent word.

So. What if I invented/discovered a previously unknown form of space travel? What would I call it?

I have to admit, this mania for referring to foreign cities only in a newly "correct" manner instead of the traditional one seems very strange to me. The CORRECT name is Київ. Every major language I am familiar with does not use the actual country names or city names for foreign places but some equivalent in their own language which they find easily pronounceable. German does this for EVERYTHING.

In my opinion anyone with the bad taste to be using a Cyrillic alphabet has little justification in whining about how other languages attempt to pronounce or write their names!

The previews and the rest of the show look the same at specifications, so this must be another prank. The clips are just the same, but the previews don't work. They had to work I think.

The preview clips did not work for me in 1080p so I deleted those but kept the card. 👍 😆 I dunno if I can upgrade it to 3K later though. 😕

Firstly I was speaking of how a particular set of Gemans refer to their city - namely those that actually live there.

Secondly, I am not a German and I have no idea why you thought I was, However, I did live there for more than half of my life.

Thirdly, I am in favour of the usage being consistant. But in many cases there is no single "correct" name. Some, like Cologne/Köln, London/Londres have at least two depending on the language being used (Munich has at least three).

Totem seem to tend use the "English" name for cities. e.g. Prague and Rome, I don't know if the same is true for the names used for the models's country, but I think it is.

My point was, and still is, that the choice of name is not as simple a matter as may first be thought.

All the Ukrainian models will after 24 February 2022 prefer this name of their city.

There is (or was, I have not been back for 3 years but it was stiil there then) a huge sign, abut three meters high, made up of lights hanging over one of the main streets there that spelled out "Cologne City". In the not too distant past it was called Coln.

Because Totem is totally incosistent in labeling cards.
If you look at the only 5 Germany girls we have, three of them are from Köln/Cologne.
Anny Aurora says Cologne and Kayla and Shabba say Koln.
And even that they wrote wrong, it is Köln, not Koln.
Team should change all three to Köln, because that is the correct german name of the city.

Totem appears to have changed the city of "Kiev" to that of "Kyiv" in the GUI.

If you don't want to see them dancing barefoot, have a look at the show details page and if that does not say "naked feet" then the model keeps her shoes on.

More advanced Hybrid Card

Lets say I want to test the same Clip in All 4 resolutions.

I can copy the clip from one of the resolution folders and rename that clip.

The Last two digits of a clip, are just a 2 digit number.
So you can change these last two digits to make a custom clip in the hybrid folder

for a 720p clip I change the last two digits to 70
for a 1080p clip I make the last two digits 10
for a 3K clip I make them 30
for a 4K clip I make them 40

I often Keep the Last Digit the same...

So I will have 4 copies of the same clip name, one from each resolution, but the last 2 digits will be changed.

I can then Play any resolution of that clip, just be selection the correct one by looking at the last two digits

example card e1000 clip e1000_2052201.vghd

I make 4 copies, each from a different resolution of the card.
e1000_2052271.vghd - the 720p version
e1000_2052211.vghd - the 1080p version
e1000_2052231.vghd - the 3K version
e1000_2052241.vghd - the 4K version - there is no 4K resolution of this card though..

A rebuild collection is Needed after making any clip name changes.

Correct,

The VR show for Nata Ocean was made with her wearing the Outfit for Her NFT card.
The downloaded VR shows Have the Card Number included in the file Name.
This Card will be g0014 when it is released fo the DOLZ metaverse.
so that is the card number that is part of the VR shows File name.

for the 2700p version of the VR show it is

iStripper_g0014_h265_2700_59.94_LR_180.mp4

For QA testing this is what I do.
example Card E1000
I download the 720p version.
When it is done, I go to the Models folder and Rename the Folder by adding a dash 720p
For card folder E1000 I rename to E1000-720p
Then I select card E1000 and change the resolution from 720p to 1080p
that triggers it to download again, but in 1080p
When that is done, I again rename the folder E1000 to E1000-1080p
Then I select card E1000 and change the resolution to 3K
that triggers it to download the 3K version.
When that is Done I again rename the folder E1000 to E1000-3K
and last, I change the resolution to 4K

This time I leave the folder as is, E1000
this is the 4K version.

I end up with 4 sets of folders
E1000-720p
E1000-1080p
E1000-3k
E1000
and in some cases
E1000-mixed ( see about my old laptop below )


I test this Version, the 4k Resolution.
when I'm done, I rename E1000 to E1000-4K
and I then can test one of the other versions.
to Test the 720p Version, I rename E1000-720p to E1000

Now I can test the 720p animations.

I don't have to make any changes in the App.
Not even do a rebuild.
I just rename the Folder, and play the Animations.

The App, knows what version the Animations are by the Animation Header.

On My Old Laptop.

I could Play the 3K version of Standing clips without any issues.
But the 3K table clips played slow..
The 1080p Standing clips were fine..

So I would create a Hybrid Folder that was made up of 1080p Table clips and 3K standing clips.

The Software Played all of this just fine, in the correct resolution because it got that information from the Animation files header.


It doen't matter which resolution you download 1st.
As long as you keep track and rename the folder so you know what resolution is in that folder
you can do the resolutions in any order you want.

The software will only use the files in the folder with a normal Name
so which ever folder you Name E1000
that is the animations the software will play.

I know anyone can download 1K or 3K resolution versions of their cards at any time
however one can only replace & keep one version of this at a time. No one wants to do that.

I agree that it would be nice if the app directly supported being able to download multiple resolutions of each card and effortlessly select which one to play. However, even with the current version it is not necessary to re-download each time you want to use a different resolution for a card. You can keep the different resolutions in different folders and just change the storage folders to point to different sets of folders when you want to change resolution. This is somewhat inconvenient - but a lot better than downloading each time you want to change resolution.
