I wanted to write a piece about the Special Edition NFTs.

First a big thank you to @Totem for producing these. I've been collecting and trading every NFT since the beginning. Collectors have been rewarded with free "Special Edition" NFTs via the BabyDolz store.

There have been 10 Special Edition releases so far but they aren't linked to the NFT Seasons page at the moment or the models NFT page - they should probably be called Secret Editions.

I thought while we wait for them to be linked up in some way, I would post a little review for the collectors who might not even know these cards exist.

As I can't link an NFT image into this forum I've included one from a regular card for each model just for an image and a link to the NFT Marketplace where each NFT can be found.

All the scenes work well for me. The scene from 2001, is very pretty, but there is a break with the background graphics, when the face appears, which is disorienting to the eye. But that's just a small detail. I was just wondering, couldn't the background graphics have continued when the face appears?

I also made myself a scene without the black border of the FGA402 scene, which works very well for me. Excellent work. 😊

Toutes les scènes fonctionnent bien pour moi. La scène de 2001, est très jolie, mais il y a une coupure avec les graphiques d'arrière plan, lorsque le visage apparaît, ce qui est déstabilisant à l'oeil. Mais ce n'est qu'un petit détail. Je me demansais juste, si les graphiques arrères n'auraient pas pu continuer, lorsque le visage apparaît ?

Linkset must be used exactly as I had earlier described.
Using model's name will not work.
Using card name will not work.
Linkset is always in brackets [].
The beginning of linkset is this: [linkset].
The end of linkset is this: [/linkset].
The card id (letter followed by numerals) is between these.
Do not use blank spaces.

With you on that. You need a maths degree to work out how you can get one if you already own most of the normal cards.

Kelly Collins was last year though.

I was looking at this year - so far 10 secs + 2 to come (probably) and 3 Ex cards + 1 to come (probably)

So a probable total of 16 "special" cards this year compared to 14 last year.

Four ex cards so far.
Atlantis Deep, Kelly Collins, Lilly Mays, Shelena.

It seems the SECs have reached their peak.There have been thirteen released each year from 2021 to 2023.This year only ten so far.(I expect two coming soon, leaving one short)

There have been 3 Ex cards though and another one to come.

Personally they have become too expensive for me. There are currently 6 SECs in the store that I don't own and there are 2 of the Ex cards that I don't have.

With the Ex cards it isn't just the cost it is also the convoluted way of obtatining them. It is too boring for me.

Some of the games allow you to get Joker cards. If you play enough games you get a feel for how many credits on average it will cost to get a Joker. So there's no need to really change things if this works for @Totem.

4 times as many Credits for only 3 times the price of the 250 credits.

Each Credit cost just 9 cents each if you get the 1000 credit pack
so a single card is $2.70 each
You save $0.90 per card. Save 90 cents per card.

if you by the 250 credits, each credit is 12 cents each
a single card is $3.60 each

and then once you reach 10 cards, you become a Silver level member and start getting 10% savings on every card you buy.

Members would be demanding their Credits refunded for all the SEC cards that they spent 100's of credits to obtain.

@astro14 the cashback is indeed one of the better offerings. You can pick the cards you want and yes get the cheapest one of each five you buy for nothing in effect. This offer will end at 9am Paris time, so you don't have long to make use of it.
The Black Friday we have no idea what that is yet, but it will most likely involve more spending, and on possibly cards you might win in a game that you don't particularly want.

The matter is very simple. This is most likely one of the systems with which Totem Team will grind out more profits.

Those users who spend a lot of money to get these Cards are the same ones that allow the system to stay afloat and economically stable, allowing the rest of the users to pay "only" 30 credits per purchase.
From this point of view, the system makes perfect sense.

The only change I would make without being "destructive" towards the monetization model currently in use would be to make these SEC purchasable (even at 50 credits for example) after a period of time of maybe 1 or 2 years.
This system would unite the two worlds without excessively damaging either.

Believe it or not, I only have the cards I like so far in My Collection. Over 3000 cards selected one by one.
I don't like the hidden part, as long as I only want the cards I like in My Collection.
I only use hiding for the cards that are no longer on the server, so that I don't delete them by mistake.
I would prefer the unpleasant cards to be deleted from My Collection even without the cost being paid back.

The Team puts up the Outfits used in the Production of the cards on an E-bay Auction.
The Auctions last for a couple of days, 2 maybe 3 days.

when you purchase the Advent Calendar, you Pay in advance for ALL of the cards included, Minus any cards you already purchased at the time you added the calendar.
Up till the 24th of December.
But do Not Wait that long.. I would make sure to purchase it by the 23rd to avoid any technical issues that have seemed to happen in past years on the 24th and 25th.

You DO NOT have to open the Advent Doors, but that Door will automatically be opened before the event ends.
and that card added to your collection.

You can always move a card to the Hidden collection if it's one you don't want to see displayed in your collection.

The main advantage to purchasing the calendar is that you get the SEC released on the 25th only included with the purchase of the calendar.

The Minimum Price is for 24 cards at regular price of 30 credits, or 720 crdits.
Their could be one or two cards at a higher price of 35 or 40 credits, and that will also be factored in to the total Price.

Then you also get your Level Discount.
from 0% up to 50% depending on your current Level.

If you are Free or Bronze level
Then you might want to purchase cards one by one till you reach silver to get your 10% Level discount on the remaining cards.
The same is true if you are just about to Level up and need fewer than 24 cards to obtain the next level.

Also Stated above:
The regular card released on December 1st is NOT part of the Advent Calendar.
The card for December 1st must be purchased separately if you want ALL of the cards from December.

What is in the Calendar?: You will get 25 cards in total. 24 regular cards and the SEC card.
You will receive the 24 cards Released from December 2nd, including the card Released on December 25th.
But because you Own the Calendar, you get to receive these cards one Day Earlier than Non-Advent Calendar owners.

So on December 1st you get the card that will be released on December 2nd. You get it 1 Day Early.
On December 2nd you get the card that will be released on December 3rd. You get it 1 Day Early.
...
On the 24th, you get the card that will be released on the 25th, You get it 1 Day Early.
Then on the 25th, you will get the SEC card.
25 cards in Total for the price of the 24 regular cards.

Assuming it follows the same format as previous years then no, you cannot skip a card.

Normally the calendar consists of 24 shows (the cards from 2/12 to 25/12) plus the SEC.

To take part in the calendar you have to buy the 24 shows. If you don't want to buy up front you can buy the cards individually and if you decide you want the advent calendar (to obtain the SEC) then the cost of the shows you have purchased will be deducted from the balance you have to pay. If you do this it is prudent that you do not leave until the last minute as it may not be possible to rectify any technical glitches that may prevent your transaction from completing.

If you don't open a particular Window then the card will automatically be added to your collection at some point. This is so people who are away during the holiday do not miss out on the cards they have purchased but are unable to open at the time.

Also please note that the card officially released on the 1/12 is not part of the calendar and has to be purchased separately. The card for 2/12 will be released on 1/12 for those that purchase the calendar.

Nope, you buy the whole calendar, 25 cards. Open a door and I think they start downloading immediately.
You will not know who until you open the door, unless you do what Number6 has done and note all the dates.

And we have a Black Friday and probably another EX card to get through before then I think.
