You are totally right. You should be able to purchase tickets as well as a subscription. You might search for other threads on the same topic, I remember reading about it before. Then you might bump the thread in the morning to make sure that the Totem team see it during normal French working hours.

Did you purchase with a credit or debit card ? If so the third party billers are sometimes tricky about trying to buy something twice from the same company within a few days of each other.

I have had something similar happen when I first joined and I didn't have a subscription, I buy tickets. I bought a few tickets through Epoch and decided to buy more the same day. I went back to buy more and it told me the same thing it told you and I don't even have a sub ??? Anyway I went in again with a different card and it went thorugh with no problems.
Being the curious one I am I tried again with the first card the next day and it went through.
Not saying this is your problem but just stating what happened to me. You might try a different card and if that don't work, try getting up with the biller.
The billing is done by third party billers and Totem has nothing to do with them other than using them for a billing service.

I will escalate this problem to Totem and see if they have a different answer but I think they are going to say contact the biller. Anyway, I will be happy to ask about it if one of the other mods don't beat me to it.
Hang in there and be patient

I have had this problem and discussed it with Totem back in the beta days.

What EPOCH has told you is not correct. It is their systems that are in adequate. CCBiller might also be the same.

The way they do their "accounts" work is that when they create an "account" for you in their system, they use your credit card number as the main identifier. Therefore, when you create an account for buying tickets OR a subscription, then your account is created with THAT credit card number.

They then cannot create another account with the same number to do the alternate transaction.

The only way I have found is to do a subscription with one ie CCBiller (I didn't like EPOCH) and then as required purchase tickets wth the other biller. This might mean in the first instance you have to cancel accounts with one or both of them. Was it me I would keep the subscription biller going and then cancel the other. The later when you want to by new tickets, use the other biller.

Is Epoch that bad for other users?

Thegraybeard mentioned he had this problem when he did not even have a subscription. Others have subscriptions and are having trouble with Epoch.

I do not have a subscription (never did) at vghd.
My aol email shows emails that say I have been billed my Epoch. The oldest was back on July 18, 2008, just after I got this computer. I have always used a debit card (NOT attached to a bank account) except in the earlier portion of 2006 (vg2), when that was a debit card attached to a checking account.

I have no way of knowing if I used Epoch while on the other computer. I have no way of knowing if I used Epoch with vg2. But everything I bought I actually received. The biggest problem I had was with Totem, when I had difficutly accessing vg2 at the end of July this year. That lasted one day. Not a single problem with purchases using Totem web sites.

thanks again cartel. only one flaw... i bought the six month subscription through Epoch. so i can not go back and purchase another subscription till sometime in october.(also you only have the option of buying the booster packs or tickets through Epoch.) I will try and call them again.

@graybeard... I have tried repeatedly at diffrent times throughout last weekend to buy the booster pack & tickets, but keep getting the same responce.

"SORRY!!!!

Your order has been denied. Our records indicate that you might already have an account with the website, please check with the website adminstrator "

P.S. @graybeard... I used a debit/visa card.

@JonC,

Personally I don't like for EPOCH for other reasons as well. I briefly subscribed to another site just to see something and then all of a subdden I had this scam running where I was beening debited each month for something I had not subscribed to. TotenRex explained it to me and I had it stopped & the payments refunded by my Bank. However the scam were being processed through EPOCH, I can't say that they were in on the scam, but it makes me wary.

@fnfred,

What you could do is cancel the EPOCH subscription, which will in turn cancel your VGHD account. Resign up with a new account using CCBill.

After doing that contact the Totem support centre & ask that they link the two accounts. That way youy can use the cards from the initial account together with the new account. If you like you can send of a query to totem via the help area, saying what you intend to do and ask them to confirm if that is still the best course of action.

@fnfred1 And jonc

I also stated that I tried again the same day with a different card and the purchase went through without any problems. If I tried with the same card, it always gave me that exact message. Different card, no problem. I bought many boosters when they were offered to me but if I tried to buy two sets of boosters the same day with the same card ... again, the exact message you posted.
The only real problem I ever had from Epoch is a double charge once for the same purchase. They never hesitated in giving me a refund on the overcharge, but somewhere in the correspondence of them and Totem I had shows taken away that were purchased way before this incident. This turned out to be a bit of a hassle, but was worked out and I got all my shows back.
Try with a different card or if you don't have a different card, then cartref's suggestion is the only option.
