I don't want that!

Most recently, the software was updated twice in the background without any notification.
I don't want that! If anyone installs system changes or updates, it's me, no one else.
I want updates only to be displayed. Only I decide whether to install these updates, and when to install them! I expect that this automatic update feature can be disabled in the next version.

I also agree, it feels too invasive.

Whereas I had the issue of receiving notifications of the new versions being installed but they didn't so kept getting notified on every startup.

Agree partially with OP unless the update gives a detailed changelog telling us what is being changed/fixed.

What a mess! *****!
Once again, a new version of iStripper has been pre-installed without my consent, and all I need to do is restart iStripper. I don't want that. Absolutely not! A notification about the availability of a new version is perfectly sufficient!
And when I say I don't want it, I don't want it! Got it?

@Arsena,
If you want a prior version, this post will be useful.
Also, the other two posts may help.

I use version 12376 and never get a notification of an update. I also never get updated.

(I would use a recent 2 version, but 2 is too much for my computer)

@JonC001,
I don't believe going to a former version is a solution to disable automatic updates. I consider missing option to disable automatic updates in the background without the user's consent as a serious programme issue.
