Does raise another question for those who purchased the short version - do they have to pay again for the longer version?
I hope not. That would be the last straw (as we say here in Quebec).

Sort of wish I had not mentioned it now - so obvious the answer really.
The file will eventually be replaced by the new and if you bought the short, you would then have access to the long and no more credits needed.
