Hi,

I've spent the last two hours trying to get this to work and I'm out of ideas.

I have VG working fine on my work pc, but I thought it might run better on my gaming PC. The clips play slow on my work pc since it has sort of a mediocre video card.

So I download and install the software on my 2nd pc and choose use existing account and I enter the name and password and it immediately starts downloading all of my cards and girls. Never mind that I have them backed up and had unchecked the boxes for automatic downloading and background downloading. It just wouldn't stop???

The first couple of times I tried to stop the downloading and restore my backup but then that didn't work I decided to just let it go.

So, now comes the problem. When I try to play a girl it doesn't, no video, no errors, nothing.

On the desktop tab active is checked. And all of the allow boxes are checked. But nothing plays.

hello @Geeky2 have your use the option browze when you have install on the new computer,

if yes made sur you have not write in the and of the path /VGHD.

then now the best to do copy again your shows in one new folder, not all file of the data folder, only the folder in.

then all the folder models
and only the folder of the folder data

uninstall VGHD
install again and give the new path without write VGHD

ex: you have creat d:/herevir/vghd

then you write only d:/herevir

and wait the time the program rebuild all files in the data folder.

if you like the risk !!! you can trie my script !!!!

http://mapage.noos.fr/cumulus33/INTER/utile.HTM

the option for choose one new location is (14)
the procedure is easy,
i ask what hard drive you want use and i ask what name is the folder where you have place the folder VGHD and i made all next. use a simple name, no special caractére and too big.

use the option (15) for change the langage you want use. only for the version XP.

have luck.

HI,

Hmm, thanks for the tip.

I never would have thought. Yes, I did do the browse. On this machine it has a small C drive and huge data drive. I think I saw in the help about doing the browse. It did find the directory I used since it's still downloading the girls there. ( d:\VGHD ) That's what the installer chose after I selected the drive. I'll try gain, but I think the installer always appends VGHD to the chosen path.

I'm thinking maybe try again with a new account and to just let everything default just to see if it will even run on this machine.

NakedNews plays beautifully on this machine and SecondLife gets up to around 40fps, even with a heavily fragmented texture cache.

I have
AMD Semperon 2200+ 1.5GHZ
NVidia 7800 GS.
Samsung 2253BW
Windows 2000 sp 4
DirectX 9c

I know it's not the newest, but it's capable and quite stable.

@Geeky2 your welcome ;-)
for stop download, go in download area, desactive the 3 download option and quit the program, when you comeback the program in theorie not download again.

you copy the folder VGHD here :
D:/VIR or of course a simple name you choose, no use special caractere and trie to not place space.

and in the browse write only
D:/VIR

then the program use the folder VGHD in D:/VIR you see ?

if you write :
D:/VIR/VGHD then the program install in D:/VIR/VGHD/VGHD !!!!!

Hi again,

Ok, I sorted it out.

Somehow something got corrupted on this machine. I couldn't even get into My Computer/Manage. Whatever it was seemed to only affect a few things, including VG.

So, I fdisked and reinstalled the OS and Second Life and Virtual Girl and everything seems happy now. Luckily there wasn't much installed on this machine.

Also the virtual girl clips play faster with the better graphics card like I thought they would.

I was unchecking those boxes. Apparently VG doesn't stop when it's in the middle of downloading a bunch of files/cards. Logging off and rebooting does do it, and it doesn't start up again.

Now if I can find the girls I bought last week. I caught a trailer of one that did a very nice poll dance. I think I bought her but with all of this going on I'm not sure now.
