recently moved my library (141 cards) from imac 27 desktop to external drive and now cannot access any of my cards, but further no previews or access to istripper features even after changing folders in settings? i have uninstalled and reinstalled program several times? i have cleared all caches i can find? and when i reinstall it is never a clean install as it always defaults to my name already logged in after install? sooooo frustrated!!! any help or advise would be greatly appreciated. I can help you. I'm running on a 2020 27" iMac using OSX 10.15.7. Both my data and models folders are on an external WD My Passport Ultra.

The key to your problem is almost certainly the preference file com.totem.Vghd.plist but you may be able to achieve your goal without touching that file. Caches have very little, probably nothing, to do with your problem. Reinstalling the software does not change the preference file.

Please answer the following questions:

1. What have you done? What folders have you moved to the external drive?

2. What do you want to achieve? Do you want to move the bulk of your data to the external drive or all of it? Moving just the models folder is usually enough. I had some special reasons for moving the data folder.

3. Do you know how to edit a preference file?

i moved everything except the exeutable file that downloads when installed. that file is still on the desktop..i have changed location of files in settings to read: volumes/blah/blah. Yes, Harddrive is only 500G on imac desktop. Passport is 5 TB. Possibly, but not sure what preference file to edit? running 10.15.7 imac late 2012

There are a number of elements to iStripper on a Mac. The most important are:

1. The iStripper application file which should be in you Applications folder.

2. The data folder whose default location is an iStripper folder in home folder.

3. The models folder which defaults to the iStripper folder but can be moved anywhere using the Advanced settings of the iStripper application's user interface.

The iStripper application can be placed in either the root applications folder where it will be available to all users of the comptuer or the home folder of a single user so that other users can not see it. I have mine in the root applications folder.

1. Where is your data folder?

2. Is your models folder in the path shown in the iStripper advanced setting data sector?

I don't want to go into preference file issues until I understand your file configuration. If you haven't moved the data folder and don't want to move it, you probably don't need to do anything to the preference file. That filed is named: com.totem.Vghd.plist

my data folderand models folder is on the passport? should i move that somewhere else? the istripper folder is in the applications folde on the puter, but i do not see a file called com.totem.Vghd.plist? info.plist is in the contents of the istripper application file but maybe the other one got destroyed somehow and everytime i reinstall it doesn't install? thanks again for your help as i see nothing on any of the topics regarding this!?! :)

There is nothing in the home folder except file called virtual girl.txt

Also the folder that shows on my passport is called Virtua Girl, (no typo as it seems it should be virtual?) not istripper?

should i be using safari instead of Chrome?
