So let me try to get this correct, 12:00 A.M. Paris time = 7:00 P.M. New York Standard Time or 6:00 P.M. with Daylight Savings Time ?? I just want to make sure when the deadline is so I know when I vote it won't be ruled invalid.

Yes Jay. You are correct. There is currently a 5 hour time difference between Paris and New York. 12am midnight Paris time is in fact 7pm New York time.

You can vote at any time within that 24 hour period. You could have voted for Victoria or Trisha when you were whining about the deadline.

Voting seems to have slowed down quite a bit. Perhaps extending it to 48 hours in between ladders at this point could help allow the girls to get more votes. Or maybe extend it to a week per ladder and the girls just get as many votes as they can get.

Another consequence of this phenomenon is that the Ladder competition for Easter Sunday (when Europe springs forward) will only be for a 23-hour day.

@91hebasu: obviously the votes per challenge have dropped dramatically, both because of the shorter time limit and the fact that people are probably ***** if they're allowed to vote for a challenge (and maybe even because of all the fuss). So the change worked like it was supposed to (perhaps too much).

The new rule means a girl can win with only 1 vote, which could be explained as unfair, but I like to think my vote weighs heavier in the new situation. Let's see if the voters can get the hang of the new system a while longer (don't wanna change the rules too much or in too short a time span)

@tmemo: I don't think we can count your vote, Victoria vs Marjana is something different than Victoria vs Trisha. Please correct if you can.

Look at my last post on the previous page: when I posted that, it was about 10:00 am Paris time and the current challenge was Victoria vs Trisha. That challenge ended 12:00 am Paris time, now 3.5 hours ago. So FatElvis' vote and those after him are invalid.

I seem to have mixed up pm and am, so to clarify: each challenge starts at LUNCHTIME 12:00 Paris time, NOT midnight in Paris (midnight is 00:00 or 24:00). This may not be what one expects but it helps me run the show a bit better as I usually sleep at midnight Paris time ;-)

I think the lack of discussion in the last couple of days indicates that the new rule has placated the "community". I think it's working well.

Clearly this is a pointless exercise that will never result in a winner, but it's no more pointless than 90% of the other threads on this forum. It's a great idea and a lot of fun.
