"Trusted member" is a level with no real signification. "Verified member" is the key to access all the Categories and Channels in the iStripper Server on Discord. The verification is used to see if you are a human and not a robot which should spam or break the server.

They were having some teething issues but seem to have a handle on it now as I see it from the outside. I support the attempt to transplant the community culture over to Discord even if I won't be there. I was so close to fitting in too. 😄

Also I agree the name "Discord" is ironic and in bad taste. They should have spent more than five seconds on the name. But what's done is done.

But independent from the Name, the complete Discord Service is free to use for everyone,
and i think for an free to use Service/Software it's pretty great i think.

Also the Team/Moderators/Members are now visible through their Online Status,
which is not the case within the iStripper Client.

At least from my point of view there are a lot of advanatges in compare to an static Forum.
It needs for sure time to evolve, but i think this is the smallest "problem".

Only it does turn your name yellow - so if you like yellow good to have.
I think if the Totem Team trust you they give you that and of course could also take it away again.
Getting verified is the key, which again someone had to do for me as I was failing the tests.

Actually there are indicators (little bell symbols) on this forum's front page that show whether there are unread posts and in each section the elapsed time since the last post was made to each of its threads is displayed so it is easy to see where new stuff has been posted. You do not have to "only see it by chance reading through everything".

I am sure that Discord handles these things better than the forum, but the functionality is not completely absent as the quoted text would seem to imply.

Personally I just use the "latest posts" part of the forum to see what has happened since I last checked. Pressing F5 updates it so its not exactly hard to keep up with things - and I get windows notifications when there is a new post to a thread I have been recently active in.

Name: the gaming community is filled with people who are obsessed with irony. I expect that is as much explanation as is needed.

Getting verified: seemed like a hassle to leave the server, figure out where to find an invitation, and re-join, especially because I hadn't really been thrilled with the content before it all disappeared for non-verified members, so I procrastinated. The new "we're moving to Discord" notice on the Forum front page solved the need to go looking for an invitation, so I tried again today...

...and it was weird. I did the captcha and got the green check, but below that it said "Verification failed. Try again." in red. Except I can see all the channels now, so it doesn't seem like it failed.

Content: still not sold. I'm not sure if it's just the way posts and threads are organized or if I just don't find many of the discussions compelling, but I don't feel the need to rush to Discord to see what I've missed. Maybe it's because all the picture posts that are causing all the drama are of little interest to me. The most interesting posts to me are still here in this forum--for the time being.

Instead of hosting images they should just allow hotlinking instead. You enter the URL of where the image is hosted online and it displays on the app.
I'm not a discord fan so I guess this might be goodbye.

What I can't understand is why the platform needs to be changed.
I am also a customer of other sites selling goods and / or services and almost all of them have their own forum where customers and / or users of that site talk to each other and exchange opinions, comments, suggestions, etc.
So I don't understand why Totem wants to direct us to Discord which, as I said, I don't like it at all.
If the problem is nude images, I think it is enough not to put them in the forum, perhaps by creating a non-public section of the forum itself, accessible only to members, where you can post topics with nude images.
Or, as said by Prime579, using an external link.

Many adult sites accept credit card payments, but I don't think any of them censor the content that advertises the items and / or services they sell.
In conclusion, therefore, I am and remain strongly opposed to abandoning this forum and I hope that Totem does not close it.
Of course, nothing against Totem is also on Discord, but it doesn't ***** us to leave this forum.
Otherwise, I'll skip attending and just be a customer.

EDIT: a few minutes ago, Céline officially announced that from 1st October it will no longer be possible to post photos in this forum.
Too bad if this prohibition also applies to non-nude photos, because otherwise that's okay for me.

Of course, the forum remains open and all images posted before October 1st, 2021 will remain.
The iStripper team will also continue to post NEWS with images here :-P

So we can still view old threads for info and ideas. Link to it from Discord too.
And it can still be used for chats, if some do not want to try Discord.
We could describe what a model looks like instead of a photo. 😉

Discord has a lot of advantages.

You can :

1 - post pictures, gifs and videos

2 - access it thru your browser or from their app on your computer and your mobile
2a - (which means you get way faster help from other members!)

3 - see who is currently online

4 - exchange private messages with other members

5 - get instantly notified of important news like reload bonus, fansign, giveaways and so on

6 - you can even have voice conversations with other members if you like !

All this, in the same place !

1 - Is possible with the forum, though posting video is new.

2 - All of those options are possible for the forum.
2a - I don't see why this is implicit in 2.

3 - Not possible with the forum. Some may not want it known that they are on-line.

So, not a lot of advantages only a couple. And as it splits up the comunity the "all in one place" would have been better served if that place was the forum.

Thanks to all the Nitro Subscribers 😎 ✌ 💚 the Uploadlimit for Images, Movies and Gif's
is now increased to 50 MB per File, for every User.
The Forum is supporting only 3 MB Filesize for Images and Gif's.

By the way only 4 Boosts are missing then the Uploadlimit is increased to 100 MB per File,
which means only 2 Subscribers need to stuff their 2 free Boosts in to the iStripper Server.

And like @wrightsayswow already mentioned, you can change your Online status to invisible
while you are logged in with the Discord Client or in your Browser.
Even if you are using Discord during this invisible status, no one will see that you are Online.

If you are closing the Discord App or logging out from yout Browser, while you are invisible
your status will remain, and if you are logging in the next time no one will see you either.

You can be invisible!

So, in fact, you can't "see who is online", only a subset of them. The most important subset as far as this aspect is concerned, but not what was stated.

I am sure that Discord provides all of the stated functions in ways that are "better" than the forum, but for the most part they are not new.

Things like upload limits in the forum could presumably easily be changed.

Yes of course you are getting these Windows notifications, but please keep in mind not every iStripper
User is a Tech Guy/Nerd like You, stefnev1, Wyldanimal, myself and probably a few more.

It was interesting to see some 4600 people registered there however I wouldn't say I see more than a hundred active people posting here regularly on this forum... where were those people before ?! All the sudden sg. is forbidden they want to post... When they were free to give their opinion here without any efforts even in some critical questions, they sat in silence, now they suddenly want to talk, like I said, interesting.

I always have seen an indicator that I have received a PM in pretty much real time, certainly not requiring some drastic action such as restarting the app. It could certainly be improved, but I have seen no basic problem. In the old VGHD days there was even the possibility to have a private chat (instant message) session as well as PMs. I don't know why Totem withdrew that service.

As far as the Windows notifications are concerned it does not require being "a Tech Guy/Nerd" - there is a tick-box for them on the iStripper settings page and they just pop up in the bottom right corner of my screen.

Yes i know that of course, and you also might know i'm not using Windows as my main Operating System.

Furthermore to see the Tickbox "Windows Notifications" you have to tick Advanced Settings
on the Settings page. A new iStripper User want to see naked Girls in the beginning instead of
dealing with the Settings Page or the "User Manual" inside the Client. 😛

But anyway i really enjoy Discord and the new possibilities ❤️
