I was looking at the comments section, leaving some comments and stuff for the models after not doing it for a while.

Noticed a lot of "comments" that are not personal opinions or reviews of the shows, but rather some guys debating with other users about their opinions and tastes. Dunno, but IMHO, the place for that is the forum, since the comment section used to be a place to get a feel about the shows, and get recommendations or anti-recommendations from the users perspective. All was good before certain user made a spamming campaing about certain girl. That seemed to stop to a degree, but the tendency goes on.

Personally, i would like to see the comments section back to its original state, rather than as a perverted extension of the forum.

Just my two cents about that.

Oquijan,

lets us know the cards or the users and we will have a look. Do it by PM if you like.

Perhaps you can make a sticky to tell the commenters to comment about the girls only, I noticed a lot of users putting help please messages up when they should go to problems, bug, and fixes and yes, I noticed a LOT of spamming and plain nonsense in the comments section.

Well, I don't buy many cards at the present time due to my concern over Totem finding a flock of birds but they all have just white meat:) Plus I don't bother commenting on the few I do buy so I am likely not guilty, this time:)
However, now that you mention it. Seems like just now there is a huge "love fest" on with Totem and any quantity or quality of gals they toss to the masses seems to please them to no end. So if someone dares to post what might be considered a rather negative comment they come a runnin' with the tar and feathers and this messes up the comment section:)

Hmm - I would agree with limiting comments to one per member per card, and only allowing members who have bought the card to comment.

My caveat on the comment section- I have never found the comments section particularly useful so I rarely read them anymore, (plus I am obsessed so I download every card regardless lol).

IMO most are in the simple cheering/dissing vein of "The Best Girl ever" "I love her" or "She is ugly" "I ***** fake tits" rather than comments on the erotic, artistic or stroke value of the card. One can easily determine the first type of information for themselves without taking up valuable time reading anything by viewing the demo, the animated previews, or the zip photo previews. (To be honest in the past when I did comment I was guilty of posting too simple comments, I will admit; - that is why I stopped commenting and instead use the rating.)

There are a few comments that rise to the level of true reviews - those are useful. (And I do not mean very long comments only - there are many one or two sentence comments that are meaningful - jut few and far between.) But it is not worth the time to search for them. Thinking on it, maybe moderation is also needed in order to help make the comments a true rating system more useful to others.

Well, i also think that there's no need to post twice in any card and shouldn't be allowed. There's enough room in one comment to give a review or an opinion. More than one is just drawing attention or debating where there should not be a debate.

There's some guy that erase his posts and post them again to be on top of the pages or to put them above when he doesn't like what other user posted. It is frowned upon in the forums to do that just to bump a thread, so i don't see why the comments section should be any different.

As much as i would like to see more value in the comments, i personally don't care if someone just says "i liked it" or "i ***** it". Their opinion. But bulling others, posting just to draw attention or posting plain off topic nonsense is just a waste of time for the people that looks in there to guide their purchases.

I've been around for a while now, so i also don't pay too much attention but to a few reviewers that are fair, but i did read that section when i was a newbie to guide my first purchases, so i think that section must remain as clean as possible for the new people.

In general concur with comments raised and like CV, have only "moderated"when pointed in the direction of what is considered offensive behaviour.

Although while not formal policy, what I would consider "correct behaviour" is:
  • One comment per member per card, unless a specific (single response) is required to another post.
  • No ongoing debate about a card. If you want to do that, then that is what a forum is for...
  • No agressively negative comments. If you do not like a card, you can state why without emotive language. eg Ugly etc
  • Remember everyone's tastes can be different, so just because you love a particular model or card, does not mean everyone else has to agree.
  • No personal attacks on other members.

CV, have I left anything off, if so please feel free to edit and add :)

I was looking though the comments for Jana H today and saw an awful lot of how can i get this to play, I guess because it tends to be one the first people get.

I seem to recall that it is now possible to sticky comment and wondered if it might be a good idea to put some tech support sticky there

Also, for a forum, means the constant repetition of the same message, picture or other things like external links not related to the forum, in a disproportional way, with the intention to draw attention, make other users to waste their time or pervert the utility and intention of an Internet forum. ;)

Oki. This need an update to the info provided about the Comments section.

Besides the guidance you find here about the matter, you can feel free to report to any mod any comment you might find that is insulting, has profanity in it, spams with off-topic nonsense or is totally on bad taste.

We will deal with that, if needed.

But, that doesn't include opinions you don't share. Every user can express themselves inside the rules and the proper behaviour.

Don't post, just pm a mod.

Have fun. ;)
