I'll expand on what @Wyldanimal said. You might notice some better quality at the cost of CPU cycles if you play 3K cards as a scale greater than 80% on a 1080p screen. This is because a 1080p card is designed to be played at about 75% on a 1080p and beyond that it must be scaled up and will be a little less detailed than a 3K card played at the same scale.

Going Forward, all Cards in all resolutions will use the new encoder.

On a Large format Full HD ( 1080p) Screen 40" or larger, you might see better clarity by Down scaling 3K size to 1080p size, but that is at the cost of CPU cycles.

I think you have it.
The new show are incoded with the new codec, for all resolution....so they can't be play on older version of the software.

The quality on the CC+ is definitely better. Much more detail, less colour shift (although still some there).

@follower , the new card e1208 does download in 720p onto the ancient version of the softwae (1.2.132). It even shows on the my collection page. It just won't play. I'm not even worried about, or for that matter, really care that it doesn't play.

I let the cards that I have enabled play at random, and after I happen to see one being played, I then disable it. Eventually, all of my cards will be disabled, except for the ones requiring this new software, and on that day I will have to embrace the new technology. It's really not a big deal.

Because the last time Totem didn't oblige, there were legal difficulties... cases... Totem didn't win. So to save money and face Totem just takes down the card. It is less hassle all round.

Crystal Clear + Analysis

There is a good enough improvement, the clip integrates well a 5K scene without noticing the difference in pixel density.
More details are appreciated (see detail of shades on the hair and arm tattoo and texture of the clothes).
Clip can be expanded more with less loss.
The integration of the edges is softer and the dynamic range of the color quite good.
The test is done on a 5K screen of 27 and a 4K 60-inch screen.
In both cases the results were satisfactory.

GPU is used when you play the card in fullscreen mode.
The team has announced some improvements soon to play the clips smoothly in the new format Crystal Clear+.

what is the framerate of this new quality standard?
My CPU load is holding between 10 and 22% while demo playback, but the show seems to be stuttering slightly.

I got hit with this nice little message from Norton when I tried to install from the home page on the www.iStripper.com webpage. After 3 or 4 tries of running the installer and receving this each time, I got fed up and told old Snortin' Norton where to go.

Not sure if related specifically to this new update or not but Bitdefender Total Security just flagged the vghd.exe for ransomware remediation. First time ever so not sure what that was about.

Just upgraded and watched the new demo. Video play of the new CrystalClear+ format is not smooth at all on my system ( I5, 8GB, GeForce GTX970, not the latest, but should be powerful enough). I hope this will be improved.

Like to see this new program really put through its paces with a girl like Melena Tara; one who really moves and flips that hair. Just curious.

Argh time to upgrade to a bi-cpu motherboard... One for IS and the other to work.

It's clear that it depends on my hardware. Sad news for me is that my system manages well the old cards, but not the new ones.

I just updated the software and checked the new "crystal clear+" preview.

Good news: video quality is extremely good, and shows an HUGE emprovement;

Bad news: looks like it needs MUCH more system resources... on my laptop the animation plays with continuous spurts.
