Yet another way for Totem to needlessly drain customers' credits.

Too bad for those who play.

Totem will use any means to make more money, at the expense of their customers.

I knew the good old days when there were real discounts on cards with specific themes. (blondes, redheads, brunettes, big boobs, etc.).

No need to play those damn games.

Prior:
Odds 1/20
Credit 1
If you win on average every 20 plays, this cost you 20 credits.

New:
Odds 1/10
Credits 2
If you win on average every 10 plays, this cost you 20 credits.

No real change.

Prior:Odds 1/20Credit 1If you win on average every 20 plays, this cost you 20 credits.New:Odds 1/10Credits 2If you win on average every 10 plays, this cost you 20 credits. No real change.

The only change is that it reduces credits more quickly, which means you have to buy new credits more quickly too.

It's more profitable for Totem.

Le seul changement c'est que cela réduit les crédits plus rapidement, ce qui oblige l'achat de nouveaux crédits plus rapidement également.

C'est plus payant pour Totem.

I think you just don't have the right mindset for gambling. You're thinking in terms of profit, but playing the national lottery, slots at a casino, or any other game that relies purely on chance is not a viable way to make money.
The same applies here: you won't get any significant discount playing this game. If the standard price of a card for you is less than 20 credits and you plan to participate frequently, then it is not worth it, because in the long run, you will lose credits and it's better to buy cards directly.

BUT

Gambling is about the emotion of winning. You are paying to get this emotion. The increase in odds to 1/10 and the price to 2 credits did not change the balance of the game, but it will allow you to experience the emotion of winning more frequently. And yes, spending more credits.

PLUS

If we use this app and spend time writing comments here, it means that we are not interested in the company going bankrupt, the servers being shut down, or the price being increased every month.

So, I seldom play any games here, I have no interest in NFTs, but if people engage in these activities and it allows the company to release new shows every day, hire known models and not increase the price of the cards, I see no evil.

@nowhereman1965 you are absolutely right. People who aren't into gambling (myself) have nothing to win there and should just not engage in games etc. For people who like it, they are keeping this app running, so let them continue. It's that simple.

Sorry still makes no sense at all. If I can win once every 10 time is still pay 20cresdits for a card which normally cost less. Why should i play it? Why should I pay more if i can buy it for less. And regards to math in school, the change to get one card every ten draws is not 100%, not at all!

It boils down to this... you've got to be in it to win it

Each Member can Only Enter the Drawing ONE time per card.
If you are one of the Lucky 1 out of 10 to win, then the card only cost you 2 credits.
If you were not one of the randomly selected winners, and you still want the card, then you pay your regular price for the card.
The card cost you the 2 credits for the Drawing Plus your regular Price.

There are now Double the Number of Winners Drawn, so your chances to Win are Doubled
And that is a 100% increase in your Odds.

If the typical card costs you less than 20 credits, and if you buy every card that you bet on but lose, then in the long term playing the game will cost you more money than not playing the game and just buying the card.

Mathematically, speaking there is no question that your odds have been doubled. That is your chance to win. Is now twice as high as it was before. However, the cost of entry has also doubled. So over time, both will cancel out in terms of the cost per card won. Also remember that this is operating over large scales, over small scales, like per card its just regular gambling. It is the thrill or the excitement, not for the odds of winning that is the driver. You will have to be doing this over large scales to win cards at 20 C per card. So if you enjoy gambling, then no *****, no foul. For me, if they do in fact offer a Joker card, I may occasionally play it. But I'm certainly not going to be playing it as is.

Maybe do a permanent game where Diamond+ members could bet for a joker and have it a rate of one Joker per 150 entries. With a progres bar that automaticlly fills after 300 Credits or automatically resets if a Joker is randoml won. On every spin you can win a joker with 1 in 150 odds for 2 C per spin, with secondary chance to win normal cards at the same 1 in 10 rate. So essentially a guarantee of at least the joker after 300 C. The same progress bar system could be in place for another permanent game where newer players are incentivized to rapidly grow their collectio towards member benefits. Same 1 in ten odds for normal cards only at 2 C per pop, with a gift card progress bar after spending 50 credits. A normal card would be defined as ANY regular card ( No Special event + cards) released 2 years prior to the current calendar year.

If you Look at Each Member Level
and every Member Who Plays buys the card Win or Lose.
9 Members Pay 2 Additional Credit totaling an Extra 18 Credits
1 Member Pay only 2 credits
Then if you Total up the 9 buyers at 2 extra Credits, plus the Winner of Only 2 credits, you get the Total Take for these 10 Cards
and then if you figure out what the take is for 10 cards normally at that Level
you Get the Difference, Profit / Loss for that Level from the Daily Bonus.

Lets walk through the
Elite / Master Level
the Take for 10 cards at 15 credits each is 150 credits
With the Daily Bonus. 9 Members pay 17 credits an One Member Paid 2, that's a Take of 155 credits
at the Elite Level an Extra Profit of 5 credits
at Master Level an Extra Profit of 5 credits

Here is the Profit / Loss of each of the Other Levels:

Triple Diamond 3.5 credits Extra
Double Diamond 2 credits Extra
Diamond 1/2 credit extra 0.5
Platinum Loss of 1 credit
Gold Loss of 4 credits
Silver Loss of 7 credits
Bronze Loss of 10 credits
Free Loss of 10 credits

Now, I doubt that each group of 10 entries will be all from the same Level.

So if we take the average of all the Levels
it becomes an average Loss of 1.6 credits

The Daily Bonus
Totem is Loosing on Average 1.6 credit for every 10 cards

Only users with high money or personal conections with the domain holders win the jackpot!

Pretty outrageous claim if you don't have any proof of such cheating. And I bet you don't.

👎

The odds of winning jackpot are slim of course, but I don't think there is any "fix" to direct the winnings to pre-determined members here.

Joker cards being added gets my attention! But trying to get regular cards this way doesn't seem of benefit to me. It may be a better deal for new users.

What are the odds of pulling a Joker? Since I've been on a major losing streak with the events and stuff, that would be the only reason I'd do this, but I have the feeling those odds aren't so great.

Totem had to add in the possibility of a Joker card to potentially make this appealing to those with many cards like myself. I mean..why would I pay an average of 20 credits per card when I can buy it outright for 15 credits??

Even with the possible Joker card for me this is a Just say NO....
